The apartments were fitted out at the same time and are similar in materials and furnishings. Their defining feature is the old timber: boards and beams more than 200 years old, restored and built back in. It is not cladding but seasoned wood with cracks, knots and patina — it makes the rooms feel especially harmonious and gives them a charm no new material can create. Add to that an eye for detail in places you only notice at second glance, and bathrooms as new as bathrooms ought to be.
