Family holidays in Mellau
Baby cot, high chair, garden and a kitchen where you can cook for four. What really speaks for this place for families — and what doesn’t.

Why a
holiday apartment.
Your own kitchen, your own living room, your own timetable — you know better than we do what a difference that makes with small children.
The Kanisfluh Apartment is the obvious choice: two separate bedrooms, plus a sofa bed in the living room. Four people sleep comfortably, and the children have a room of their own. A travel cot and high chair are added free of charge on request.
The Mittagsspitze Apartment also sleeps four — in two separate bedrooms with a double bed each, so no sofa bed is needed. The Hangspitz Apartment suits three. If you are coming with several families, book the whole house: Kanisfluh and Hangspitz are next to each other on the top floor, the Mittagsspitze Apartment is on the ground floor.
For children: what’s ready and waiting
- Baby cot permanently in the Kanisfluh Apartment
- Travel cot on request, free of charge
- High chair on request, free of charge
- Garden with seating area and barbecue
- Fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher in every apartment
- Shared common room for rainy days
- Four parking spaces right by the house
- Tourist tax only from age 13
Please note: the Kanisfluh and Hangspitz apartments are on the top floor and can only be reached by stairs — there is no lift. With a pushchair or baby carrier, the Mittagsspitze Apartment is the better choice: it is on the ground floor.

With children on skis.
Mellau-Damüls is a forgiving ski area. There are wide blue and red pistes where children can build confidence. The ski school and ski kindergarten are up at the top station — the ski bus takes you to the valley station in a few minutes, and the cable car does the rest. The stop is one minute’s walk from our house.
For days when skiing is too much, there is the natural toboggan run near the village centre, with a place to stop for food and drink.
The groomed winter walking trail opposite the house is easy going, even with a sledge in tow.
The skis stay in the lockable ski room on the ground floor.

With children
outdoors.
In summer the Bregenzerwald Guest Card is the strongest argument. From three nights you receive it free of charge, and it covers the mountain lifts, the swimming pools and all buses. For a family of four, that adds up to a considerable sum over a week.
The garden by the house has a seating area and a barbecue. On evenings when nobody wants to go anywhere any more, that’s a good plan.
Ask us — we know where to go
When the weather turns or the children have seen everything after two days, no brochure will help. We know the places that really work with children — the swimming pool that is worth it even in the rain, the hike that is short enough, the playground that needs no explaining, and a few spots that aren’t on any village map.
Just tell us how old the children are and what they like. There is always a tip to hand, and it costs nothing.
Pets are welcome
Up to two well-behaved pets may come along. We charge from €15.00 per animal and night. Please mention your pet in your enquiry so that we can allocate the right apartment.
