Übermellen 14, 6881 Mellau. By car on one of two routes, or by train to Dornbirn or Bregenz and then on the regional bus (Landbus). Both work well.

By car: two routes, one destination.
Which one is right depends on where you are coming from — and on the weather.
From Bregenz and Lake Constance
Via Wolfurt, the Achraintunnel, Egg and Bezau to Mellau. This is the fastest route and the most reliable one in winter.
From Dornbirn
Over the Bödele, Schwarzenberg and Bezau. The most scenic option — though in winter it is a mountain pass road that requires winter equipment in heavy snowfall.
Winter equipment: in Austria, winter tyres are compulsory in wintry conditions between 1 November and 15 April. On the pass roads in the Bregenzerwald you should carry snow chains.
By train and bus
The Bregenzerwald is unusually well served by public transport. Many of our summer guests come without a car.

By train to Dornbirn or Bregenz
Both stations are on the Munich–Lindau–Bregenz–Zurich line and on the Vorarlberg railway (Vorarlbergbahn). From Germany and Switzerland you can get there without changing trains.

On by regional bus
From Dornbirn, line 40 runs into the Bregenzerwald, and from Bregenz, line 850. Both stop in Mellau. The journey takes about 45 to 60 minutes, depending on the line.

Mellau bus stop
From the stop in the village centre it is a few minutes’ walk to us. If you have a lot of luggage, we’ll pick you up — just let us know beforehand.
In summer, with the Bregenzerwald Guest Card, all the region’s buses are free from three nights. In winter the ski bus is free for our guests.

- Friedrichshafen — approx. 70 km, the nearest
- Memmingen — approx. 120 km
- Zurich — approx. 150 km, the best international connections
- Munich — approx. 220 km
- Innsbruck — approx. 200 km via the Arlberg
From Zurich and Friedrichshafen you can reach Mellau by train and bus. If booked in advance, we can organise an airport transfer; it costs from €200.00 per journey — if you like, you can order it straight away with your enquiry.
Parking and arriving
There are four free parking spaces at the house — no reservation and no extra charge. For skis, snowboards and boots there is a lockable ski room, and the garage for bicycles and motorbikes.
Check-in is possible daily between 15:00 and 22:00. If you are arriving later, please give us a quick call. We’ll make arrangements.
Within a few minutes’ walk of us: supermarket, bakery, café, restaurant, bike hire and the bus stop.
